I hear the Lord saying…

Surrender this day to Me. Talk to Me, commune with Me, sup with ME.

I AM the keeper of that which you hold dear. I AM the sustainer of ALL things!

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)

Abide in the secret place in the shelter of the Most High.

More than enough

An expected end…

What are you expecting??

Look to Me FIRST…not resources.

Love: The foundation of our Faith

He that Loveth not knoweth not God; For God is Love.

                                                                                                           -I John 4:8

In this passage the Scripture states that God is Love. It also states that if we aren’t Loving others, we don’t know God. This is a bold and challenging truth that we must understand fully in order to walk in it.

But what is Love exactly? Is the scripture speaking about a human type of love that weakens when people stop acting the way we would like them to? Maybe it is speaking about benevolent goodwill towards others. If we take a look at the Greek word for love in this passage, you will see the word agape. Agape means the love of God or in simpler terms, the God kind of love.

What is the God kind of love?

As a believer in the Lord Jesus, it is always best to let scripture interpret scripture. First Corinthians 13 gives us the answer:

 I Corinthians 13:4-8 (Amplified)

4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentfulit takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].

In my next post we will dive in to the individual characteristics of agape Love.

Heavenly Father, thank you for shedding your Love abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which you have given to us. We ask that you open the eyes of our understanding concerning what you have already done, so that we may walk in it fully, showing your love to the world.

In Jesus name, Amen.

The Ministry Girl Chronicles

…Cry aloud, You who have not labored with child!

For more are the children of the desolate, Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:1

This is a direct command from God to offer a sacrificial praise to Him in the midst of unfruitfulness!

He is speaking to the ones that have tried over and over again to make it happen but couldn’t. The disappointed, the bitter and broken. It may seem like your life has been a vicious repeat and a Groundhog day from hell, but God is quickening you by His Spirit to CRY OUT in praise to Him for the very thing that there is no evidence of…,your fruitfulness!

The Word of God says

Now, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things unseen (Hebrews 11:1)

The very thing we do not see, by FAITH we have…

Our Focal Point

Why does it seem so difficult to turn the phone off, the laptop and television in order to quiet ourselves from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? We are so used to managing noise, agendas and relationships that keep us distracted, busy and overwhelmed most of the time. Juggling all of these things can lead to frustration, depression and confusion if we are not allowing God to be God IN all of it!

Our Heavenly Father gave us a command in Psalm 46, BE still!

Be still and KNOW that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations;
I will be exalted in the earth!

Be still before him, rest, take a deep breath…stop trying to figure it all out, stop trying to do it yourself. Being still is the ONLY way you will receive the second part…AND KNOW that I am God.

God wants you to let HIM be God in your life! This is how He is exalted among the nations and in the earth!

We have an assignment in this earth…a race that we must finish! Jesus is our focal point and we must first be still and allow God to speak into our hearts, move on our hearts and refresh our soul; Or it is inevitable that we become weary. In our quiet time with the Lord, we must lay it all down and surrender every area that is bringing heaviness and distraction, then leave it there at His feet.

In Hebrews 12:2 it says; let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus. In order to finish this race, we MUST focus on Jesus Christ and keep Him first.

Heavenly Father I need your help. Please open up my heart and reveal to me the areas that I need to surrender to you and then help me lay them all down here at your feet. Refresh me with your sweet Holy Spirit and your gentleness. Give me wisdom to approach the various situations in my life that seem daunting. Most of all Lord teach me how to quiet myself before you. In Jesus name, amen.

Scripture references:

Be still and KNOW that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations;
I will be exalted in the earth!

Psalm 46

Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Guard your heart!

Are you paying attention to what you allow into your heart?
Proverbs 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
God instructs us to protect our heart from allowing just any old thing into it. I challenge you today to pray and ask God to show you the things in your everyday life that are destructive to your heart and therefore your life. I also challenge you to obey His voice once He reveals those things to you! Close the door to the enemy’s entrance into your life in Jesus name!
